The well-known artist and writer Alasdair Gray has suffered injuries to his back, head and legs following a fall at his house in Glasgow.

Paramedics rushed to the scene in the West End of Glasgow to treat Mr. Gray, however, it is thought that his injuries are not life-threatening. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, with Mr. Gray being rushed to hospital to receive treatment.

Police Scotland confirmed that the injuries were not life-threatening but were unsure of what had caused the incident, admitting that inquiries were underway.  A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At 1.50am this morning, police received a report of an 80-year-old man having been injured at a property in Glasgow. An ambulance attended, and the man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time and inquiries are continuing.”

Slip, Trips, and Falls

Many people are injured every year in slips, trips, and falls, many of which are not their fault. While such a fall may seem to be innocuous, it can result in serious injuries such as broken bones, a serious head injury, fractures or serious sprains. Often a trip or fall can occur in public due to uneven surfaces or issues with the condition of the road or pavement. If you have been hurt through no fault of your own, whether it be a slip, trip or a fall you could be able to make a personal injury claim. To do so, our team of personal injury solicitors will require as much evidence as possible such as witness accounts, photographic evidence and basic details about the incident.
